Join us for this third session of The Dobbs Decision: A PBA Series Capturing Different Perspectives where you will hear from legal experts addressing practical considerations lawyers might face in representing their clients or addressing issues within their own firms. Many overlapping considerations related to health law, employment law, and professional responsibility may be affected by the Dobbs decision and laws enacted in response. Our distinguished panel will discuss various topics, including the following:
- Legal issues for patients and providers related to access, delivery and care, including interstate travel concerns for college students or workers, caregiver/guardian liability considerations, interplay of various federal and state regulations and statutes, and fertility-related matters.
- Legal issues for employers and employees related to health insurance, time off, and assistance, including considerations for multi-state employers or employees who live in one state but work in another state, any limitations for assistance from health insurance, and issues employers should consider before determining what if any assistance to offer their employees to avoid running afoul of other state laws or equal protection requirements.
- Ethical issues for attorneys related to advising clients and complying with professional responsibility rules, including how to handle potential criminal statutes, implication of multiple states’ laws, and balancing different professional obligations when licensed in multiple states.
