This webinar will look at what Medicare covers and how Medicare covers the services, treatments and procedures while "in-patient" in a care facility. We'll also examine the difference between acute care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, hospice care and long term care - the levels of care and quality of care that each provides and how Medicare pays for it - the criteria for Medicare coverage for stays in hospital and skilled nursing facilities. And we will examine the issue of characterizing patients as "observation" status versus "in-patient" status for hospital stays, and the potential costly consequences to patients - the difference in the level of care you receive and how much you have to pay for it under the Medicare system.
