This session will cover how Brady/Giglio violations, false testimony, improper arguments and Batson violations can lead to reversal of verdicts and death sentences. Also a discussion on a number of case examples and common factors/problems that lead to reversal.

Using real-world stories from the trenches, the “Defense Forensics: Digital Evidence” presentation will illustrate why it is always a good idea to have an expert review digital forensics evidence and reports produced in discovery. After a brief primer on digital forensics, the presentation will cover how defense forensics is different, the ins and outs of getting digital forensics experts what they need, and examples of when having a digital forensics examiner work for the defense has changed the outcome of the case.
