About

Because the educational process is fundamentally important to advancing diversity and eliminating bias, PBA, PBI, and the PA CLE Board partner in this project that recognizes the critical importance of diversity in the legal profession and justice system.

In this interactive program, participants will explore realistic workplace situations and contemplate the issues, viewpoints and ethical principles at play. The program utilizes animated vignettes, audience polling technology, and panel discussion as its educational design.

Scenario 1: The Judge’s Statement

An uncomfortable situation in judicial chambers requires careful thought and some challenging decisions. Choices and consequences must be considered. What will you do?

Scenario 2: Challenge to the Partners

It is annual review time at the firm and one lawyer’s expectations of making partner are dashed. Are the reasons behind the decision acceptable? Is concern warranted?

Scenario 3: The Client’s Views

The beliefs of a large client create a dilemma for partners in a firm. Is it possible to meet the client’s needs and provide the best possible representation? What choices will you make?

Activity: There are several incoming associates to a firm, all with specific aspirations and backgrounds. Each new associate must be paired with a partner at the firm. Your role is Placement Consultant, and your success is based on the strength of your matchmaking decisions. You must review the qualifications and background of each associate and partner and use your judgment to compose your preferences for the pairings.
