Thomas Lee Esq.

Mr. Lee is employed by Penn State Dickinson Law in Carlisle. He was elected by his peers as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an honorary organization of attorneys, judges, law faculty, and legal scholars whose public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession. The American Bar Foundation was founded by the American Bar Association in 1952, and is affiliated with the ABA, but remains an independent foundation, free to set its own research agenda. Membership in The Fellows is limited to one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in the United States and globally. Members are nominated by their peers and elected by the Board of the American Bar Foundation. He is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College and earned his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Tony Chan Esq.

Tony regularly advises clients on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity, growth equity, and venture capital transactions, as well as on corporate governance, joint ventures and corporate finance. His clients include global strategic buyers and sellers, as well as financial sponsors and their portfolio companies in the life science, healthcare, investment management, technology and video game industries. Tony has been recognized for his life sciences and M&A work by a number of notable publications, including The Legal 500 US, Law360, IFLR1000 and Legal Media Group. In particular, Law360 highlighted his work in navigating the complex life sciences industry and key partnership negotiations between biotechnology and drug companies. In addition, Tony sustains an active pro bono practice, serving as counsel to nonprofit organizations such as Aequitas, APAI Vote, Rebuilding Together Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Film Society, and the Harvard Asian Alumni Alliance, as well as several charter schools, including Rocketship Education. Tony also serves as an adjunct professor at Georgetown Law School where he taught Takeovers, Mergers and Acquisitions since 2015.

Kyle Dumont Esq.

Kyle Dumont serves as the Director of Digital Operations and Design on the Digital Transformation team at Morgan Lewis, leading a multi-disciplinary team to catalyze cultural transformation through differentiated service design and product development. Kyle manages an agile team of diverse professionals within the firm. Researching, designing, testing, and developing digital services that deliver value to our clients and colleagues. Kyle specializes in leading strategy and developing communicable evidence of digital solutions’ value by acquiring fluency on new technological innovations and translating client-centered insights into meaningful opportunities for design and innovation. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Kyle practiced transactional law with a focus on mid-market M&A and emerging companies. His career in KM and practice innovation has included automation, database design, enterprise systems, enterprise search, licensed technology implementation, and change management. He also developed operational experience as the founder of a bio-degradable plastics startup. Kyle holds a law degree from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, an MBA from the Fox School of Business, and dual degrees in biological engineering and entomology from Cornell University.

Yangmo Ahn Esq.

Yangmo (“Harvey”) Ahn is a member of the Intellectual Property and Patent Groups who assists clients with technology-related matters. With his born curiosity, Harvey enjoys understanding clients’ technology and devising strategies to protect their intellectual property rights. Also, as a native Korean speaker, Harvey can provide language facilitation. Harvey assists clients with patent prosecution, patent litigation, and IP counseling and transactions. His practice encompasses his technical background of naval architecture and ocean engineering and expands into mechanical devices, medical devices, protective athletic and active gear, and consumer products. Having been an engineer as well as a patent inventor, Harvey utilizes his experience in understanding clients’ technologies and inventions as well as protecting clients’ rights. Harvey, a former structural engineer at one of the “Big Three” shipbuilders of South Korea, is currently a member of the Society of Naval Architects of Korea (SNAK). He engaged in designing and engineering ultra-large containerships, LPG (liquified petroleum gas) carriers, LNG (liquified natural gas) carriers, and crude oil carriers, including the world’s largest containerships (then the largest in 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2020). In doing so, Harvey worked with various marine classification societies, responding to ever-evolving rules and regulations of IMO (International Maritime Organization), IACS (International Association of Classification Societies), ABS (American Bureau of Shipping), BV (Bureau Veritas), LR (Lloyd’s Register), DNV (Det Norske Veritas), GL (Germanischer Lloyd), and KR (Korean Register of Shipping). He designed ships and conducted CAD (Computer-Aided Design) drawings of structures and calculations of various structural strengths, including yield strength, bucking strength, fatigue strength, and deformation of structures. Harvey also assessed the structural integrity of ships using finite element analysis, from modeling ships to evaluating the whole ship, cargo holds, and local portions using linear and non-linear analyses. In response to climate change and IMO regulations limiting ship emissions, Harvey participated in research and development of new systems complying with those regulations. He also engaged in preparing technical proposals for bidding, not only considering various aspects of projects but also the goals and needs of various clients across the world. Harvey served as a KATUSA (Korean Augmentation To the United States Army) soldier, infantry 11B, under the Eighth U.S. Army. He earned the Expert Infantryman Badge (EIB) and a 2nd infantry division challenge coin, later serving as an EIB instructor. During his service, Harvey was a team leader in his unit after completing the Warrior Leadership Course and was awarded a Commendation from the Republic of Korea Army and the Army Achieved Medal and Army Recommendation Medal from the U.S. Department of the Army. Prior to joining McNees as a full-time associate, Harvey was a CAMP 1L summer intern and a law clerk at the firm during his 2L and 3L years in law school, mainly working with the Intellectual Property Law and Energy and Environmental Law Groups. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Harvey worked as a law clerk and continued his legal education while supporting his wife, who also studied law, and preschool-aged daughter. He enjoyed the challenges life threw at him and actively participated in a multitude of activities. Harvey served as a member of the editorial board of Dickinson Law Review, an officer of the Dickinson Law Moot Court Board, and was an advocate in the Jeffrey G. Miller National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. He also served as president of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association and vice president of the Dickinson Law Intellectual Property Law Society.

Donald McKay Esq.

Donald J. McKay, member of McNees’ Intellectual Property Law Group, has experience protecting methods, systems, programs, business methods, and devices of a mechanical, chemical, electrical, biotechnological, and computer/business method nature. He has prosecuted a wide range of patents, including applications, for over 20 years as a member of the Patent Bar. And for over 15 years as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar, Don has prosecuted hundreds of trademark applications and worked with clients on a multitude of various commercial and business matters. A speaker and writer, Don’s areas of thought leadership include all areas of intellectual property law. Leveraging his deep understanding of the business world, Donald offers practical solutions to his clients by applying the right combination of creativity, innovation, and commitment. He is committed to providing the best and most practical level of service to each of his valued clients. Don manages the patent and trademark portfolios of entities identified by the Pittsburgh Business Times as some of Western Pennsylvania’s fastest growing companies. He also helps businesses and corporations avoid regulatory and compliance issues, litigation, and other problems that can lead to expensive settlements, verdicts, and attorney’s fees. Serving in-house corporate needs ranging from entity formation to dispute resolution; Preparing and negotiating a wide range of professional service agreements, shareholder agreements, employment agreements, software licenses, and other commercial contracts; Litigating intellectual property, trade secret, contract, and other Federal court matters; Procuring patents and trademarks; and conducting infringement investigations, analyses, and opinions. Prior to joining McNees, Don founded a boutique business and intellectual property firm based in Pittsburgh that delivered individualized and practical legal solutions for patent, trademark, contract, and other business matters. Don is a volunteer coach and local sports association general counsel board member in his community, and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

Vedika Mehara

Vedika Mehera is the Director of Orrick Labs. Vedika has devoted her career to improving the delivery of legal services. She leads Orrick Labs, the firm’s skunkworks, where custom legal solutions are designed and developed for clients and lawyers of the firm. She is trained and skilled in legal operations and technology and frequently applies Six Sigma principles to projects. Using her background as an attorney and experience in managing high-impact projects across a variety of legal operational challenges, Vedika is a trusted advisor to her clients and regularly consults on solutions for contract lifecycle management, document and workflow automation, process improvement, knowledge management, data analysis, AI, and other issues that are top of mind for the industry. Vedika also supports practice innovation efforts across the firm, including strategy and implementation of legal technologies for lawyers, re-engineering practice groups, and driving and influencing change in how firmwide resources execute on service delivery. Her efforts ensure that a commitment to creative problem-solving and human-centered design are leveraged across internal and external solutions alike, positioning the firm’s clients to excel at supporting their businesses, and the firm to remain on the leading-edge of innovation. Ben Longoria CEO

Ben Longoria, founder and CEO of Wizdocs, Inc., has more than a decade of experience in law and technology and their integral roles in the process of mergers and acquisitions. Ben Longoria, a Stanford University and Harvard Law School graduate with more than a decade of experience handling multi-billion dollar mergers and complex technology transactions, founded Wizdocs after becoming frustrated by the inefficiencies he experienced in his M&A practice. His vision was to create a company that could apply technology to automate the management, data analysis, report assembly, and administrative tasks associated with corporate due diligence. Wizdocs was founded with the singular mission of making corporate transactions and due diligence reviews more efficient and cost effective. Based on his cumulative experience as a practicing lawyer with clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to major serial acquirers, he founded Wizdocs and created its comprehensive offerings of software to aid both law firms and corporations in the complex process of mergers and acquisitions. Wizdocs’ flagship product (DealManager™) allows law firms and companies to streamline diligence reviews by automating due diligence reviews and the process of creating due diligence reports. Currently, the web-based software is used by some of the world’s leading law firms including Allen & Overy, Linklaters, and Gilbert+Tobin to accelerate their M&A practices and control the costs associated with corporate diligence reviews. Additionally, Longoria is the principal software architect for Wizdocs and an engineer with years of experience developing software solutions for large institutions including Harvard Law School and Stanford University. Longoria draws from his experience as a practicing attorney focused on counseling clients on intellectual property and the commercial and business aspects of complex mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. As a corporate and technology transactions attorney for Fenwick & West LLP, he represented sellers and acquirers in high technology mergers and acquisitions in numerous multibillion dollar acquisitions. Prior to Fenwick & West, he served as a transaction associate for O’Melveny & Myers LLP. While there, he focused on corporate governance, technology compliance matters and bank finance and negotiated and drafted credit and security agreements, guarantees and technology licenses. Longoria earned his juris doctorate from Harvard Law School, where he served on the Faculty Information Technology Committee that oversaw technology used at the Ivy League college. In 2002, he was appointed to the American Bar Association Judicial Counsel and helped oversee the organization’s judicial division including federal, state, administrative and special court committees. He also participated in the ABA’s Council of Minority Judicial Affairs to promote diversity in the judiciary. In 2000, he graduated with honors from Stanford University with a bachelor of arts in sociology. During the course of his studies, he was awarded the Stanford University Outstanding Achievement Award for academic achievement and volunteer service. Longoria is a member of the American Bar Association, the Alianza Mexican-American Club and the Harvard Mediation Program.

Lisa Lupion Esq.

Lisa regularly litigates a broad range of employment issues in court, administrative agencies, and arbitration. She has successfully handled a number of high-stakes arbitrations and internal investigations. In addition, she offers counseling on discrimination, harassment, equal pay, wage and hour issues, disability accommodations, termination and compensation.  Lisa regularly advises clients on a variety of employment-related issues, including human resources policies and procedures, offer letters, severance agreements and employee termination. Prior to joining Orrick, Lisa served as a law clerk to the Hon. Peter Leisure in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. 

Kosta Starostin JD

Kosta serves as the Director of Legal for Cohere Inc., a Toronto-based global AI company that trains and deploys foundational large language models (LLMs). As Director of Legal, Kosta oversees Cohere’s legal department and is responsible for Cohere’s global legal operations, including with respect to commercial and regulatory matters. Prior to joining Cohere, Kosta was a Venture Capital and M&A attorney at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, one of Canada’s leading M&A and Venture Capital law firms.

Tony Thai JD, CEO

Tony Thai is the founder, CEO, and Chief Engineer of HyperDraft, a technology company that powers law firms and legal departments with AI-powered document and workflow automation software. Tony is a veteran attorney who has practiced at many of the world’s most prestigious law firms and in-house at multiple large technology companies. Prior to his legal career, he was an enterprise software engineer and serial entrepreneur. He was recently recognized as a Fastcase 50 Honoree, serves as an adjunct professor at USC Gould School of Law, and is a legal and business advisor to a variety of technology companies. When he’s not building HyperDraft, he enjoys golfing, hiking, and playing video games.

Dennis Allen

Dennis Allen is a Program Manager focusing on Technology and CTB initiatives for the Legal, Compliance, and Policy Organization at Intuit. Dennis has worked at the front lines of legal and compliance operations for over a decade – most recently as Head of Legal Operations at Databricks, and in multiple roles at Unity Technologies and YP – and is an expert in creating and delivering digital transformation strategies, maximizing operational efficiencies, building connected systems & automations, and other scalable processes and technology solutions for large, multinational organizations.
