It’s Not Just Academic: Law Schools, Diversity, and the Legal Profession

Diversity in the legal profession is an essential goal, but it has to start somewhere; without diversity in law schools and their curricula, that essential goal may not be reachable. The PBA Diversity Team and the Legal Academics Committee will present a series of discussions in 2021 addressing this important topic, in particular how the law-school community can promote and achieve diversity in the legal profession, and vice-versa. Join a distinguished panel of law-school administrators and professors for the introductory session as they discuss their goals and initiatives and preview the next series of discussions.

About the Series

Designed to foster a genuine, sustainable diverse and inclusive environment within the PBA and throughout its membership, the PBA Diversity Team has established resources and forums for enhanced communication among PBA groups with diversity initiatives. The Diversity Team is committed to working collaboratively to promote and enhance existing diversity initiatives and/or assist with creating new opportunities.

Recognizing that an environment that supports diversity and inclusion fosters greater creativity, respect and innovation, the Diversity Team has developed this series of short programs to provide a framework for implementing change and for translating insights into actions that will help you achieve and maintain a more inclusive environment within your organization.
